Specialist Science

The Specialist Science Programme at Mazenod provides opportunities for students to be challenged through rigorous investigative science and engineering. Students who are selected for the programme engage in investigations across a range of scientific disciplines, including robotics, flight and rocketry, astronomy, solar power and sustainable energy, engineering and chemistry. Students also participate in a range of competitions such as:

  • RACI Quiz (Chemistry)

  • Young Inventors (2nd in 2012)
  • Aurecon Bridge Building
  • STAWA Talent Search

Selection of Students

The Specialist Science Programme is offered to students entering Years 8 and 9. Students are selected in Term 3 and 4 of the previous year with selection based on performance in classes during that year.
