Reporting

At Mazenod College, parents will receive reports on their sons’ progress at the following times:

Term One
Interim Report
All Years
This report is an indicator of progress against WACE, Australian Curriculum and Curriculum Framework standards provided at the end of Term One. 
Semester One Report All Years
This report is a formal assessment of student progress against Australian Curriculum and Curriculum Framework standards. Grade descriptors are provided below.
Term Three
Senior School Interim Report
Years 10 – 11
This report is an indicator of progress against WACE, Australian Curriculum and Curriculum Framework standards providing feedback to families as part of the subject selection process for the following year.
Semester Two Report All Years
This report is a formal assessment of student progress against WACE, Australian Curriculum and Curriculum Framework standards. Year 12 students receive a Statement of Results in early Term Four.
Grade descriptors are provided below.

 

In Western Australia, student achievement in the learning areas taught is reported on a five-point scale as detailed below.

Letter grade
Achievement descriptor
A – Excellent
The student demonstrates excellent achievement of what is expected for this year level.
B – High
The student demonstrates high achievement of what is expected for this year level.
C – Satisfactory
The student demonstrates satisfactory achievement of what is expected for this year level.
D – Limited
The student demonstrates limited achievement of what is expected for this year level.
E – Very low
The student demonstrates very low achievement of what is expected for this year level.

Senior School grades are determined using Grade Descriptions that are defined in the syllabus for each course. These are provided to students at the start of each year and are available from the School Curriculum and Standards Authority website.
